Join the May Day rally for Palestine this Saturday May 4th at 2pm at the Human Rights Monument!!
Every year on International Workers Day, millions of people take to the streets around the world, commemorating workers’ struggles of the past and building power for the future. Workers all around the world have heeded the call made by Palestinian trade unions on workers and labour unions to take action in solidarity with their struggle. Workers have been on the frontlines of the struggle for a liberated Palestine, leading powerful actions like blocking boats from transporting arms to Israel, establishing ethical procurement practices in the workplace, passing resolutions in solidarity of Palestine and more.
As the Student Movement mobilizes and establishes the Popular University for Gaza on campuses across the world, and as our uOttawa students, staff, and faculty are more united than ever against the administrators and elite class of the university corporation, we call on our supporters to leverage May Day and channel the collective power of workers into supporting, maintaining, and advancing the struggle for divestment in the workplace and on campus!!
In advance of May 4, please invite coworkers, friends, and family to join this rally. If you are a union member, inform your union leadership of this rally and ask them to promote it to members!!
