Many Workplaces, Many Chances: Woman Abuse in the Workplace

Did you know that in every case of domestic homicide reviewed in Ontario, there was someone- a neighbour, friend, family member or colleague- who knew about the abuse?

The question is: what stopped them from getting involved?

Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW) and the Neighbours, Friends and Families Campaign have partnered with the Policy Centre for Victims Issues through the Department of Justice to create a free presentation that specifically deals with woman abuse in the workplace.

These presentations will help employers, human resource managers and personnel to comply with the new Violence in the Workplace legislation- Bill 168. These new obligations came into effect June 15, 2010.

The launch of the presentation is April 15, 2011 for National Victims of Crime Awareness Week 2011 “Many Voices, Many Paths”!

When: Friday, April 15, 2011 Time: 9:30-11:00

Where: City Hall: Champlain Room

Featuring: Bailey Reid- Neighbours, Friends and Families Campaign Erin Williams- Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women Rachelle Trudel- Certified Life Coach
